A Post of His Own

I figured we should give this baby his own blog, his brother did have multiple at this point all to himself.  I currently have what seems like an unimaginable few minutes to write.  All is calm as Landon is sleeping and the dogs are pooped from their backyard shannagins.  I promise I'll do another blog this week (or next) with house and Landon updates... but this one is for baby.

I am currently 32 weeks pregnant, which means I only have 7 weeks of being pregnant left for my entire life.  No, after this babe is born, I will not be having any more children and no, I didn't do my math incorrectly, I will be having a scheduled c-section at 39 weeks.  Landon with his hot mess of a grand debut into this world has forced our hands.  That means I only have 7 weeks left of being pregnant, ever.

This pregnancy has seemed to FLY by.  I'm not sure if it's because Landon keeps me on my toes, a different job, or maybe moving 30 weeks pregnant is why, but I suspect that it's a combination of all of the above.  It also helps that I do not have gestational diabetes this time around, THANK. GOD.  I do not know how I would have juggled that complication among everything else.

All of our appointments have been great, baby looks to be growing as he should and as healthy as can be!  At our last ultrasound he was measuring pretty large, in the 90th percentile... maybe it's a good thing I have a scheduled c-section!

Now that we've officially moved into the new house we're all settled we can FINALLY start focusing on the fact that a new resident will be living with us and getting ready for his arrival.  His beautiful furniture was delivered the day we moved in, it looks absolutely fabulous in his room (I'll post a picture once we have more components of his room like his chair, a rug and decorations.)  I spent my first spring break (yes, first, I have two) going through boxes upon boxes of Landon's old stuff that was shoved into the attic with no rhyme or reason.  I feel very proud to say that it's all properly organized, stowed and ready to go.

In the process of organizing I pulled all of Landon's old newborn and 0-3 months clothes, washed them and hung them up.  I could remember specific times Landon wore certain outfits and they all seemed to have memories attached to them.  It makes you pause for a second to realize how fast time goes by.  It makes me wonder if we'll stop to savor each moment of the newborn phase more than we did with Landon.

I'm sure you're all reading this hoping that I'll reveal the name.  The answer is no.  Yes, we have a name picked out.  No, we don't plan on telling you.  I say don't plan, because a certain tiny person will happily divulge in the name if you ask him.  Stinker.  I suspect that part of the reason that he is so happy to share is because he named his brother.  Yup, Landon picked his brother's name and there is NO changing it.  We had a list of our top four and one day asked Landon what he thought of each one.  He repeatedly went back to the same name over and over and over.  Now, if you suggest a different name he gets flat out angry with you.  It' pretty hilarious, and it's honestly a quite sweet story to think that Landon named his brother.  So there it is, the story behind his name.

Another Sweet Boy... (and a Blog 3 Months Late.)

I have vowed to myself that I would not subcum to the usual antics of baby number two, you know, where you don't take as many pictures or don't have as much time for the novel things and yet, here we are, I have yet to blog about the upcoming member of our family. Baby Freaney, I apologize now.  I promise you are not second fiddle, even if your older brother does have us on our toes nonstop!

I started this blog three years ago for Landon, which is hard to imagine that three years of writing this has gone by already.  That babe of ours certainly keeps us on our toes and keeps us busy... we only have ourselves to blame as he only takes after his parents.

So what's happened since the last blog….  A lot.  Announcing we're pregnant, with another baby boy, halloween, our first nephew being born, family visiting for Thanksgiving, a trip on the Polar Express, Christmas, Disney World and just recently, going under contract on a new house and being under contract on our townhouse.  Life's a changing over here and it's happing faster than we'd like it.  If I could only freeze time, catch up on life and then take a long vacation on a tropical beach where I do nothing but read and sleep (I'd say drink but I still have 14 weeks before I can do that, not that I'm counting until I can pop open that bottle of wine)

Starting with the biggest news first, we found out that we were pregnant the last weekend of August.  We are over the moon excited to add another member to our family, the second time around is so much different than the first.  There isn't the unknown of what it'll be like to have a tiny human to care for, you know what that's like.  There's more of the unknown of how you're going to not only love this new baby as much as your first, but how and the hell will you have time to chase after two AND still manage to have time as a couple AND for yourself.  I know we'll find a groove and we soon after Baby is born we won't remember life any other way.  The other difference is you hardly have time to dwell on the fact that you're pregnant.  I'm just too damn busy chasing after an active two-year-old, going through the holidays, and now, focusing on moving to be thinking about being pregnant.  We keep saying that after we're moved and settled we'll be baby focused.  I suppose we really won't have a choice because by that time, he'll be about 6 weeks before he arrives.
Here's the little nugget!

You're next question is probably... where are you moving?  We're moving about 2 miles away from our townhouse.  It's a craftsman style house, with everything we wanted in a house.  It was quite the find.  Four bedrooms, a man cave, a playroom and a backyard.  We couldn't be more excited.  We close on both houses on February 17th.  We won't move for about a week after closing (we're renting our townhouse for a week) as all of the hardwood floors have to be completely redone.  There are just a few small things that need to be fixed to the house so it'll be fun to see it transform into our own.  We're just mostly looking forward to the pups (and the boys) having a backyard to let loose all their energy.

Disney was our "Your time as an only child is about to expire" trip (and because we love Disney ourselves.)  We had an absolute blast and were so excited that Kevin's Aunt and Grandma could come with us to join in on the fun!

As for the rest of the fun, I'll let the pictures do the talking...

Meeting my baby nephew, Mason!

Landon's school Halloween Party.

Landon wanted to be an excavator for Halloween... so I made him a homemade costume!

Happy birthday Cannoli!

Finding out that baby number 2 is a boy.  I always knew I was meant to be the only princess in the house!

No trip to the Charlie Brown movie would be complete without making a Snoopy!

Brotherly love.

Visiting Santa Clause!

Watching the light show with Grandma.

Even the pups don't like alarm clocks.

What's Christmas without making cookies and a gingerbread house?

Landon's Christmas party.

Riding the Polar Express, in our PJs of course!

He enjoyed the train ride more than Santa...

 Christmas at home...

We ventured off to Ohio via car and got to stop in Columbus for some QT with Aunt Katie and Baby Mason.

Looking at the new decorated Christmas tree at Grandmas.

Someone was too sleepy to wake up for Christmas.

 Christmas Day in Ohio.

Someone was a real trooper in the car for the 12 hour ride.

Grandma Holly came to visit!

Happy New Year!

Just blowing the leaves out of the garage with Daddy.

Now for the Macdaddy of pictures... Disney World!  These are all pretty much self explanatory....

Too much fun.
