Southern Boy Visits a Southern City

Happy 8 Months Landon!!

Can you believe how fast he's growing!?

Our drama queen has moved past gagging on every new food we offer him.  I must admit that I do miss the over dramatics because it could be quite funny, but at least when we're out in public people will no longer assume we're trying to kill our child.  His absolute favorite is avocado.  When he starts to have a slight tinge of green, it's not because he's ill.  It's because he's eating his weight in avocados.  He was also very adventurous in the new food sector while we were in Charleston.  He tried grits, sweet potato pancakes, and melon.  He loved all of it!

After being house bound not once, but twice in a month's time we were both itching to not only get out of the house but to escape the crazy city so we made the little jaunt to Charleston for the weekend.  It was so nice to just spend some time together where work, or the usual daily tasks weren't hanging over our heads.  We had great weather the whole weekend so we were able to spend our time walking around shopping and enjoying the park that overlooked the water.  Not to mention that Landon was the talk of Charleston, being the mustache baby.  Landon, much to our delight and entertainment, happily sucked on his mustache pacifier while we were out and about and every single person who walked by commented on it.  "Did you see that baby's pacifier, it's a mustache!"  "That's hilarious, that baby has a mustache!"  If we would have had a dollar for every time we heard someone make a comment we could send him to Harvard for free.

He wasn't impressed by my scarf tent on the drive to Charleston.

We loved spending time with Aunt Mallory!

The mustache man!

Loved the water front park.

Best friends.

The boys were enjoying a serious conversation.

Mesmerized by the fountain.

Landon has inherited the gift of gab from his parents and has now expanded his vocabulary from just bababa.  I had high hopes that we would skip dada and conquer mama first, however I am saddened to say that Kevin won that battle, and believe me, he's not shy about rubbing that one in my face.  Landon also enjoys saying yeah yeah yeah, and if his brother is feeling particularly spunky and is barking a lot, you'll hear Landon mock him in-between barks by saying "woof."  NEWS FLASH Landon, I was the one that carried you around in my body for nine months, not your brother or your dad.  Feel free to show me some love too.

While Landon isn't crawling per say, he is VERY mobile and has now created a new method of movement.  It's like an inchworm fused with an army crawl.  Put something he wants out of his reach and he'll get there.  It's hilarious to watch, I think that actual crawling will be here sooner than we're ready for it.  Our next project is to install baby gates, and I'm really dreading having our house look like an ad for baby gates.

Heart Breaker.

I don't think I have enough friends on here with me.
