Better Late than Never

Yes, it's been ages since I wrote a blog, but lets be real.  I'm a preschool teacher, with a toddler, a puppy, a needy dog, and a husband.  So by the end of the night I'm just too damn lazy to write anything.  The Freaney Circus over here has calmed for the evening, I've got a glass of wine, and some snuggly pups so now is as good as ever!

December came in like a tornado and left like a damn hurricane.  From Christmas parties, the frenzy of shopping (by shopping I mostly mean sitting on my tush and ordering online...but hey, when you're trying to find the perfect gift it's still a lot of work!), and travel, I think I need a vacation.

To start December off we went and visited Santa.  After the crazy Santa fiasco last year we decided we'd go a different route, and instead of going to the mall we'd check out a photographer who does Santa pictures in his studio, in which he sets up to the North Pole.  There were Christmas movies playing, a hot chocolate station, cookie decorating, a giant christmas coloring page.  It was magical.  Now, going into this, and knowing Landon we knew he was likely to cry.  Even after reading lots of Santa books, and talking about what he says.  The photographer asked if we thought he was going to cry and as soon as we said yes Santa put his game face on.  Here is the result...

BEST.  PICTURES.  EVER.

For the longest time Landon would ONLY give kisses to his big brother, he refused to give us them.  Thankfully he finds it in the goodness in his heart to give them to his parents (on occasion.)

So, being that I have a toddler who loves to A. To get his way. B. Throw tantrums. C. Has a slight obsession with cars.  You have a deadly mixture for the picture below.  He found the car PJs while I was folding laundry and INSISTED that he needed to wear them.  This was a battle that was not worth fighting so on they went.  The only problem was he wouldn't let me take them off, even when we had to go to the store.  So, once again wasn't a battle.  So onward we went looking like a hot mess.

One of our favorite holiday traditions, the Botanical Gardens Holiday Lights.  Kev said that it's the only time it feels like Christmas in Atlanta.  This is the first year Landon could really enjoy the lights.  Which in return made it that much more enjoyable for us.

Since we were in Ohio for Christmas Santa made a special early stop at our house.  He brought Landon lots of fun presents!  He certainly is a lucky boy.

Helping make his Christmas presents

On a rainy, cold, day before Christmas we eat popcorn, while snuggled up watching a Christmas movie.

Feeding Grandma on Christmas eve.

Admittedly I'm terrible at taking pictures, I'm so into the moment that I forget and then afterwards I'm so sad I didn't.  Thankfully my "Aunt" Christine did take lots of pictures and I was able to nab them :) So thank you!

Brunch date.

Uncle Mikey!

We were so excited to spend a little extra time at a lunch date with with Uncle Mike, Aunt Christine, Lincoln and Grandma and Papa T!  These two love each other!  It just melts your heart.

The big Atlanta Christmas tradition is to ride the Pink Pig.  Usually the line is HOURS long to ride this silly ride but while returning some things after Christmas we were able to get on without having to wait in line!  At first we didn't think that Landon liked it, until he screamed bloody murder when it was time to get off!  I guess we'll be riding this silly ride for years to come.
