Mommy Mobile

We had our regular doctor's appointment today and everything checked out great.  Baby's heartbeat was where it needed to be and I was measuring on target with my due date.  Next time I go back in 4 weeks I get to do the dreaded glucose testing.  After that appointment we'll start going to the doctor's every two weeks instead of every four.  It really makes it seem like Baby Freaney's arrival is getting close!

I by no means am a complete novice when it comes to babies, after all, I did get my degree in early childhood education.  However, when faced with registering for a baby I was at a complete loss.  Even with a handy-dandy checklist of what baby will need, who knew that there would be approximately 387392 choices for each item.  It wasn't just swing vs. vibrating chair, after you decide vibrating chair, you have to pick out one of the 60 choices.  And if that wasn't bad enough, lets just add a husband with a trigger happy finger who, when I would turn my back, would have added 5 more toys or 6 more outfits.  What we thought would be a two hour project turned into a four hour endeavor, and was promptly followed by a nap when we finally got home.

It is with great sadness that I have to say, that my beloved little A4 must be traded in for a mommy mobile.  After our marathon of registering for Baby Freaney we realized that my car would most likely not fit a car seat in it, and after Kevin talked to a friend, our fears were confirmed.  So, the hunt for an SUV began.  I was did not make the task any easier, insisting that not only did the SUV need to be functional, but it also needed to be stylish.  So, after weeks of test driving and negotiating I am currently waiting for my new Q5 to arrive from Germany.  It should be here next week, completely loaded with all the bells and whistles.  I'm a pretty lucky gal to have such a hard working husband, who let me get this car!

I hope Baby Freaney likes this car, it'll be what he's driving in 16 years.

As much as I'm so happy that I have a healthy little boy growing, there is nothing exciting about watching my abdomen grow to monstrous proportions.

It is really amazing how fast my stomach is growing.  By the time I wear a t-shirt, throw it in the laundry and wash it, it fits completely different than the last time I wore it.  Kevin's t-shirt drawer has gone from his drawer, to our drawer.  Thankfully I have a sweet husband who doesn't mind that his clothes are being raided by his ever growing wife.

I've been feeling pretty good.  I'm not quite as quick on my feet as I was.  Poor Vedder often turns around and looks at me on walks, as if to say "Are you coming slow poke?"  But as long as I can waddle, I'll be out there walking with that pup.  Being that we have a three story townhouse, I have a feeling that in the near future these stairs, while keeping my tush in shape, will be come my worst enemy.  Thankfully I don't think Baby will learn curse words while in the womb.

Nowwww I understand why mom sleeps like this at night.

  1. I hate stairs!! I hate walking too! I am finally in the "falling out" phase where there is so much pressure on my pelvis, the babe literally feels like he is falling out. My gluclose test wasn't too bad, the drink is terrible though!

Loving the new car though lady!! Xo. Aunt Licia!
