Here Are a Few of My Favorite Things...

As Landon gets older and older, he has developed a lot of "favorites".  Before he'd love something one day and then he'd poo poo it the next, but things are beginning to become a lot more concrete.

Vegetable - With each meal I try to offer Landon cut up fruit, veggies, bread, etc.  However, nothing trumps avocados.  We've learned that if we want him to eat any of his pureed baby food to not give him avocado first.  If you don't, then all he'll do is stare at the green goodness until you give in, and before you know it he's eaten all of it!

Fruit - He really must take after his father, because we just recently gave him cataloupe and he could not get enough of it.  I just skip offering him his usual puree with cataloupe, and just give him a bigger serving of the orange, juicy sweet stuff.

Puffs - Need to buy ourselves some time?  Give the babe some puffs.  He's recently figured out how to feed himself, and I think part of the allure of this magical food is that he can pick them up and eat them all on his own (without squishing them in his hands).  He's an independent boy folks, he's going to be running the world before we know it.  I think blueberry puffs are the absolute favorite, but any kind will do.

Drinking water from cups - We had a fancy cup that would only release water when you pressed your lip up against it.  Very handy when you're not trying to soak your child.  However Landon has recently boycotted these cup.  He, is a grown man people.  Only babies drink from cups like that. If there is a lid on any cup, forget about it.

Puppy brother - We're seriously chopped liver when it comes to Vedder.  The first smile of the morning is ALWAYS reserved for puppy brother, and he will not smile until he looks around the room for that furry friend.  Which, if you ask me is pretty ridiculous being that Vedder sprints away from him any time he gets close.  Vedder can simply walk into the room and Landon's whole face lights up and he starts laughing for no real reason.  That boy sure does love his puppy.

Walking - No, we're not walking on our own.  But that boy will cruise around the house with you holding his hands and holding him upright.  He's all smiles the entire time he's cruising around.  Now, if his brother walks in front of him while he's "walking," forget it, he falls into fit of hysterics.

Crawling - It's not the typical crawling you think about, it's more of an inch worm meets army crawl. In the past couple days he's gained a lot of confidence, coupled with the desire to chase his brother, has created a babe that is on the move.  Not only are we crawling, we've also developed favorite things to crawl to.  What are those you ask?  Ohhhh the usual, his brother's water bowls, the door stoppers, and his brother.  We like to sing the jaws theme songs when he gets close to poor Vedder.  Who, for the first few days had no idea he was going to be sneak attacked.  He's a lot more alert to his surroundings and can escape the grasp of tiny fingers.

Toys - Well, we could have saved ourselves a lot of money and just bought dog toys, it works for both.  Because Landon go straight to the dogs toys on every floor and plays with them.  I'm not sure if it's because he wants to entice his brother into playing with him or he likes the toys.

Apparently we have two puppies.

Water bowls are so fun!

I'm coming for you...

Oh!  There's a water bowl on this floor too?

Who needs baby toys when your brother has dog toys?

Huh?  These aren't for me?

Let me play you a little song.

Books - Landon is a sucker for the books that have the different textures, so much so that before you can even turn the page he knows exactly where the next pages texture is.  His favorite is "That's Not My Puppy." and I recently got him "That's Not My Dragon."

Swimming - Landon has taken after his father in his love of water.  That boy is like a fish as soon as his body gets in the pool.  He loves it!  We had a bit of a rough going the first 20 minutes of his second lesson but by the third lesson he was back at his usual antics of giggling, kicking and splashing around gleefully.

Swim lessons are my favorite part of the weekend!

Here's a photo bomb!

Sweet boy!

I'm too sexy for this stroller.

Laundry baskets provide hours of fun!

Please, mom.

Kev's favorite part of the night, when Landon falls asleep in his arms.

No pants dance.

I would love to kiss you!!!

Now I have two sons who beg for food...

Just checking out what magazines are on the coffee table.

Someone's trying to peek at what his brother is doing.

Pumping iron.

Too much fun with his pals Logan and Luke.

A photo shoot with bunnies is seriously hard work.

He rides in style.

We took Landon to a frozen yogurt place, and since he's allowed yogurt we gave him a little bit of the plain frozen yogurt.  He loved the cold sensation, he did not however, enjoy the taste.
